Tom Vander Laan is the Operations Manager for Vander Laan Law Firm, LLC. His responsibilities include all aspects of the firm’s administrative, IT, and business operations, including office management, marketing and advertising, accounts payable and receivable, information technology, website management, court and recorder filings, notary public duties, and shipping and receiving. Tom enjoys the wide variety of his responsibilities, but his favorite part of the job is working with his wife.

Tom and Natalia have managed the firm as a team since Natalia established it in 2014. Natalia focuses on legal service delivery and serving her clients, while Tom handles the non-legal, business side. Tom’s skilled operations management enables Natalia to spend most of her time working with clients, rather than addressing day-to-day operational concerns. They work together in making longer-term business decisions relating to the firm.

As a perfectionist, Tom is detail-oriented and meticulous, as demonstrated by his undergraduate B.S. degree in Accountancy from California State University, Sacramento, and prior management experience. His vision for the business and his strengths in critical thinking, punctuality, and managing all aspects of administrative operations make him a vital part of the firm.

In addition to his work at the firm, Tom is a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Select Real Estate in Minden. When he is not working, Tom and Natalia spend time together exploring their shared interests, which include growing 84 rose bushes, making local trips exploring Nevada and visiting long-time favorites including June Lake Loop and Monterey Bay, as well as traveling internationally. They also enjoy savoring casual, unique, and fine dining experiences and just spending time at home in Downtown Minden. Tom also focuses on his health and fitness goals and enjoys playing an occasional video game.
